If you’re like me, you might be considering, or have already given, your child a smartphone. As parents we worry that our child will abuse the privilege, get addicted to social media and start texting rude photos of themselves!
One way around this is to have an agreed set of rules around the privilege of having a smartphone.
I found this simple smartphone contract which covers some great rules. You could use this as a basis so feel free to add or delete anything that isn’t suitable. If you have an agreed set of rules then everyone knows where they stand.
But tools like this only work if we enforce them. So often contracts don’t work. Have a read of this article by Families Managing Media to find some great tips on making sure your child is responsible with their phone.
